Someone out there is listening and watching for signs of hope. God has freely given us eternal hope and so expects us to freely give it to others now. You who have seen his work know that his promises are real, so use that confidence to rescue those hidden listeners. You are like the landing lights that guide pilots to the ground at night. Make the message of safety clear to the people who are willing to come.
Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men. Psalm 66:1-5
You have this joy to know that God will take your enemies low. You have joy that will pass through the veil of death unharmed. Can you invite the world to see the works of God? Call them before they become the men to whom God is terrible.
He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him. He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah. O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved. For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. Psalm 66:6-10
The testimony of Israel in Egypt is also your testimony. God sinks the rebellious even as he sank the army of Egypt. God lets enemies test our faith until we stand without fear, not running from evil threats. God melts us in the fire only to remove impurities.
Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins. Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. Psalm 66:11-15
How many went down and God allowed it to happen? Man and nature have brought men low for thousands of years. David has seen these bad days, but he testifies that his God overcame his oppression and delivered prosperity. So he is going to pay the price of deliverance which is praise and honor. David pays his offerings and praise as a testimony for all the generations that read his testimony here; God is good.
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. Psalm 66:16-20
We are being invited to hear the praise David offers for the God who answered his prayers. As David moved to repent of his sins he was assured that God would hear his needs. God did rescue him, and David blesses his God for his mercy.
God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. Psalm 66:1-7
David asks God to bless the faithful and shine on them so the world can see the prosperity of the faithful. If the people praise God the nations can discover his mercy and salvation. From the growing joy of the nations God will build a kingdom of his people. When the people praise God nd the kingdom prospers, even the crops of the earth will increase to glorify God.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. Psalm 67:1-7
God shine mercy on us so the world can see the way to safety in you. Let all the people praise you so we can prosper and the evil in the world will fear you. As we grow up we leave the nest and learn that is easy to fly. It is more difficult to come in for a safe landing. When our flight through life is ending we can find a safe landing on the other side of the veil of death and darkness. Follow the lights of so many saints who have safely come home before us.
