FORMULA FOR SUCCESS
Praise can transform us into the glorified realm…have a song in your heart. Yesterday I proclaimed a new career direction and my competition challenged our basic ideals. I have done all that I can so now I only stand and wait on the Lord. Today’s reports are a victorious sort.
Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD. Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant. For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure. For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Psalm 135:1-5
This is the message of the psalms: praise God. The people who come to church have this assignment; to fill the house of God with praise for him. This builds our brethren and it is reflected to build our own faith. Repetition in words, song, and poetry echo the joy that is generated as incense rising to God in heaven. He amplifies the little we offer because he is good, and because of the covenant he made to Jacob and Israel. The people of God, his church are his treasure so I gain confidence that he is the God above all.
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries. Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast. Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants. Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;. Psalm 135:6-10
It pleased God to create the power and wonder of nature that moves our worlds. He also released these powers to strike the hardest of our enemies in ancient Egypt. The signs were given to strengthen the people against their fears, and to give assurance of his love. There were times of peril and mighty deliverances to demonstrate the authority of our hope.
Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan: And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people. Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations. For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.. Psalm 135:11-15
All the nations that offended God were used to provide prosperity for the sons of Abraham. The same God is still remembered and he still remembers his people. The sons of Abraham may still try to gain this inheritance today by their own strength even as Jacob did. God will judge Israel and still repent of any anger he has. Zechariah has prophesied that Israel will receive their messiah and be redeemed by the one they pierced. God will join Jew and gentile in one house of the true and living God. The enemies of God will continue to rely on their images and their own good works.
They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them. Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron: Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD. Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.. Psalm 135:16-21
These idols and their believers cannot speak, see, or hear spiritual things. Those who make and trust a lifeless idol are themselves walking dead; destined to a life short of eternity. The house of those who serve the living God are called to bless their Lord. Israel is of the adoption and of the children of Abraham who will be saved by Yeshua Ha Meshia. All of these should bless God with praise and holy living. We are the light that can draw the lost to salvation.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 136:1-5
God appreciates appreciation, so thank him. You would give your wife flowers or candy, so God loves our recognition of his mercy. We are born broken and beyond repair without the direct service of God so thank him. We are changed in ways the world says are impossible, miracles that we should thank God for. This voice we have known has the knowledge of the universe that defies measurement by our science and knowledge. He knows the evil in us too, and is forever forgiving in his mercy.
To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever: Psalm 136:6-10
Give thanks to the one who designed the heavens and the earth because has given us personal attention in his mercy. Today scientists understand only part of the physical works of the universe and nothing of the spiritual works. Give thanks to God who gave Israel the testimony of the miracles in Egypt to save them.
And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever: With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever: And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever: But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 136:11-15
The mercy that delivered Israel is eternal and continues to this day. As he did in saving Israel then, his power continues to unfold today. Perhaps we forget the Lord’s hand but Israel still sees deliverance from many enemies to this day. The mercy of God endures forever.
To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever: Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever: And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever: Psalm 136:16-20
To God who led his people through the wilderness. He showed mercy because this was more than a natural wilderness. A spiritual wilderness was populated by people and rulers of great evil and violence. This spiritual wilderness is returning today even as the Philistines are reviving their warfare and the world is sliding into chaos. These evils have infiltrated the world even as Israel is returning to their lands. God slew the evil kings of the past as a lasting warning to the evil kings of today. We are Israel, and our enemies live in denial of this testimony of their fate to come.
And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever: Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever: And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 136: 21-26
The land is of Israel forever now, and they are returning so to fulfill prophesy. Part of those prophesies reveal the future restoration of Israel to their messiah. While Israel may be under stress now, they will be grafted back into the tree of Abraham as many Christians will fall away. Enemies of God will not live under false claims of Christianity when he redeems Israel. God who gives food to all flesh will give the flesh of evil men to the birds of prey. For the people of God his mercy is eternal, so sing his praises with joy!
