FADING LIGHT

THE DARKNESS The “Arm of the Lord” and “The Holy One of Israel” remind us that God has an agent, his messiah.  In the last chapter God chastised Israel for their inequities that separated them from salvation.  He reminded them that he was still able to save them and sends his intercessor to do that. 

FANTASY ISLANDS

VAIN PLANS In the last chapter Isaiah’s message warned Israel to repent, and to remember the Sabbath.  This message has meaning to both Jews and Christians as we all need to consider our walk.  Now Isaiah delivers a repeated message, which God does to keep our attention.  Repetition should sharpen our understanding, but does it?

WITH ALL YOU HEART AND MIND There is faith in God, and there is faith in religious dogma.  If we don’t really want to please God we can settle for pleasing ourselves with pointless rituals.  God delivers a message to Israel through Isaiah, urging them to turn back to life. Isaiah 58 1 Cry aloud,

CHOSE YOUR PATH We all put our faith in something.  Some trust God, while others trust their own ability, luck, or strange spiritual notions.  Popular worship changes over time, and our faith may look old fashioned or superstitious to our modern world.  Will they even notice when things start to change for the worse?
